When it comes to romances, Baldur's Gate 3 leaves you spoiled for choice. Do you fancy a Gothic cleric? A hunky, nature-loving druid? A freaky frog-like lady? A charming vampire? This Drow villain-turned-comrade only has minor romance options compared to the significant subplots of others. However, this wasn't always the case, as the original plans would have taken things a lot further.
Minthara used to have a whole subplot based on her relationship with the player. This side story even came with the chance to impregnate her, leading to what you can assume would have been some pretty uncomfortable scenarios. There's no doubt Larian Studios would have handled this story with class. Still, given the dangers of the world, the character's personality, the nuances of such a delicate story, and more, it's easy to see why this was an idea destined for the chopping block.
