Finding and managing limited resources is a fundamental part of how survival horror games sustain their tension.

The fourth entry in the Silent Hill series, The Room, is no exception to this gameplay convention either. Players will need to keep an eye on protagonist Henry's stockpile of healing items and ammo if they intend to see him survive.

Alongside these valuable pick-ups, players will also need to keep an eye out for key items needed for solving puzzles while exploring the hellish worlds they find themselves in. Therefore, when a strange man named Walter kindly gifts Henry with an old doll later in the game, players won't think twice about accepting this item, assuming that it must be needed at a later point.

It turns out, though, that all putting the shabby doll in your inventory does is give you some unnecessary trouble.

Upon returning to Henry's apartment, the game's hub area where progress can be saved, players will discover that acquiring the doll has resulted in incredibly disturbing doll faces to manifest on one of the walls.

Unless you're looking to be forever scarred, Walter's gift is one that's best politely declined.
