The mutant flies are infamous among Fallout players for being hard to hit due to their erratic movement, which, combined with the poison spit they can hurl at you from a distance, makes for a rather nasty combination, as poison damage, especially on higher difficulties, can drop your health so fast you won't even notice you have to heal it!
