10 Video Game Missed Opportunities We're STILL Not Over

5. PT/Silent Hills Being Cancelled

Brutal Legend
Konami

Along the same theme of Hideo Kojima projects not being completed due to interference by a certain game publisher, here's everyone's favourite horror experiment, PT!

Released as a demo on the Playstation Store, PT had you go through a creepy corridor on a loop, piecing together a mystery as increasingly unsettling things started happening around you. It was, it turned out, a mysterious experiment by none other than Kojima himself - despite it being filled with complicated things to solve, gamers found out within a few hours that PT was but a teaser for a larger project: Silent Hills.

Destined to star Norman Reedus and directed by Kojima himself, Silent Hills was to be a bold new imagining in the long running Silent Hill franchise. However, all we ever got was a very small teaser trailer before Kojima's big falling out with Konami happened and the project was completely shelved.

Since then, PT has also been completely pulled down from the PSN. Konami wants us to forget about it completely, but it's very hard to do when this could have been perhaps one of the greatest horror videogames ever created.

Thankfully Kojima and Reedus still managed to work together on Death Stranding, which is to be released this November and is completely devoid of interference by Konami.
