10 Video Game Moments Where You Were Screwed Either Way

4. Life Is Strange - BAE Or The Bay

In one of the more divisive choices in adventure game history, Life is Strange concluded its whirlwind of character development, time-travelling shenanigans, and horrifying revelations by making you choose whether to save the life of Chloe, your before-anyone-else, or the lives of everyone in Arcadia Bay. Thus, bae or The Bay. This seems pretty straight-forward as a numbers game but you’ve spent every episode of Life is Strange saving Chloe over and over and she means a hell of a lot to protagonist Max, and probably you, by this point in the narrative.

Whoever you choose to sacrifice, it’s devastating. Especially as you’re not able to use your powers to save Chloe, as they are what has been setting things off to begin with. Dealing with either Chloe’s death after all your effort to save her or the deaths of her family and so many people who’ve grown to like is a crazy hard choice so it’s a rough ending no matter what you choose.
