10 Video Game Multiplayer Modes That Let You Break Everything
7. Dark Souls Series - Thanks For The Help… Not
However
experienced a gamer may be with the Dark Souls games now, everyone was a
beginner once.
Everyone got lost, died repeatedly, lost huge amounts of souls in the process, got stuck on a boss for two weeks straight and couldn’t work out what the heck that obscure item was used for. Everyone’s been there, there’s no shame in it.
Sometimes, veterans and salty players lose sight of this fact. Funny as it is to imagine new players being killed by that hidden trap, caught off guard by that ambush or swinging wildly at a wall in search of hidden paths, it costs nothing to be kind.
The notes system was intended to be used for good, not evil. A quick warning about an upcoming boss and its weakness? That would be gratefully received. A tempting note to suggest that an insta-death drop is actually a jump that can be made? Not so much.
Still, this is the way of the Souls Troll™. When they’re not invading newer players with their overpowered characters and destroying them, they’re lying to their poor newbie faces. These games are darn tough enough as it is, too.
