10 Video Game NPCs Who Could've Solved EVERYTHING (But Didn't)

1. Joshua Rosfield - Final Fantasy XVI

Killzone 2 Rico Visari
Square Enix

The ultimate antagonist of Final Fantasy XVI is Ultima, and y'know who knew waaaay more about him than he initially let on? Protagonist Clive's brother Joshua, that's who.

Even if you can accept that Joshua kept Clive in the dark for thirteen years about not being dead in order to stay below the radar and keep Clive safe, it doesn't all add up.

After all, between his subsequent conversation with Prince Dion about Ultima and the fact he eventually encases Ultima within himself, it's clear that Joshua had a pretty solid working knowledge of the bad guy.

Would it have killed Josh to clue his brother in on what he knew?

Beyond letting Clive know that he wasn't dead, telling him everything he knew about Ultima - and specifically, that he has the ability to store Ultima in his chest - would've been incredibly useful and likely saved all involved some major headaches.

Instead, through his omissions, Joshua made life way harder foreveryone than it needed to be, the silly boy.
