10 Video Game NPCs Who Could've Solved EVERYTHING (But Didn't)

8. Chloe Price - Life Is Strange

It's no exaggeration to suggest that Life Is Strange's devastating climactic choice could've been avoided entirely if protagonist Max's best pal Chloe acted just a teensy bit differently.

At the end of the game, a ferocious storm rolls into Arcadia Bay, forcing Max to make a decision - either rewind time to before Chloe was shot in order to save the town, albeit at the cost of Chloe's life, or spare Chloe and watch as Arcadia Bay is obliterated by the storm.

Basically, the storm is implied to form due to Max's decision at the start of the game to rewind time and prevent Chloe from being shot and killed by Nathan Prescott.

And while it might sound like victim blaming to suggest that Chloe could've prevented this horrible dilemma by simply... not getting shot, it's important to remember why Nathan even threatened her in the first place.

In the game's opening episode, Chloe attempts to blackmail Nathan, demanding money in exchange for her silence about his drug-dealing activities.

Not exactly the smartest move, and one so easily avoided, in turn ensuring that neither she nor Arcadia Bay were put at risk.
