2. Ethan Is A Bio Weapon - Resident Evil Village
The big reveal of Resident Evil Village is that the real Ethan Winters has been dead since Resident Evil VII and that the character the player controls in Village is actually a Bio Weapon version of his body that was created after Ethan was exposed to the mold in Bakers' residence.
There are several moments in the game that hint at Ethan's true nature before it's revealed. In Castle Dimitrescu, the tall vampire lady herself first takes note of it when she drinks Ethan's blood and calls it "stale." Then, things get even more obvious when Lady Dimitrescu cuts off Ethan's hand, and the man barely reacts to it at all.
But if his weird resistance to fatal injuries was not convicting enough, you can actually examine Ethan's severed hand more closely in your inventory to find that there are small patches of black mold growing inside of it, confirming his mysterious endurance is the result of his death in BioHazard.
Ethan's condition is a plot twist known to everyone in the game, except Ethan himself and you, the player. However, you just have to be attentive enough to join the "We Know" club with the rest of Village's cooky cast.
