10 Video Game Pre Orders That Were Actually Awesome
1. The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Cast your mind back to 2002.
Girls Aloud’s Sound of the Underground reigned supreme in the UK Top 40, Spielberg’s crime film Catch Me If You Can dominated the box office and gamers across the globe were salivating at the thought of a new entry into the esteemed Legend of Zelda series.
Link’s latest adventure, The Wind Waker, had him taking to the sea, hopping from island-to-island in an epic quest to defeat the evil Ganondorf once and for all. The tale is as old as time (well, 1986 to be specific), where our hero traverses the land of Hyrule bent on sealing away the evil that befalls the land.
In 2020 we’ve come to appreciate the formula. Each game in the series is someone’s first, however, so including a separate disk including both The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and its remixed version Master Quest with a preorder of the latest title was a stroke of brilliance.
Gifting gamers the opportunity to revisit one of the industry's landmark titles, as well as a fresh spin on it, was sure to forge loyal customers for years to come.
