In BioShock, an amnesiac called Jack finds himself inside the derelict subterranean city of Rapture. Staying alive isn't easy since the doomed domain is populated by mutant Splicers and monstrous brutes called Big Daddies. 

Luckily, Jack can defend himself with a genetic material called ADAM, which grants him special powers. But as the mysterious protagonist faces bigger and stronger enemies, his supply of ADAM just doesn't cut the mustard.

Fortunately, Jack can boost his powers. On his journey, he'll notice that each Big Daddy is accompanied by a strange girl called the Little Sister. By rescuing these children, Jack receives a reasonable amount of ADAM, allowing him to amplify his abilities. 

But if Jack chooses to harvest the kids' bodies, he'll earn double the ADAM. Since Jack is under the false impression the Little Sisters are evil, it's very tempting to kill them. By the time Jack learn the truth, it's too late since the Good Ending is off-limits if more than one of the girls is offed.

But if Jack has already murdered a few Little Sisters, he might as well slay the lot, since there are no further repercussions and it will increase Jack's ADAM exponentially.
