10 Video Game Rip-Offs That STILL Messed Up What They Copied
4. M&M's Kart Racing - Mario Kart
Not only is M&M's Kart Racing among the most egregious rip-offs featured on this list, but it is also legitimately one of the worst video games ever produced.
Released during a period when shovelware was at its most prevalent in the gaming industry, developers Frontline Studios presumably hoped that plastering the famous confectionary brand on top of a terrible kart racing game would prove to be enough to promote sales for the title.
Despite featuring many of the motifs of Mario Kart as we know it, M&M's Kart Racing fails to come even close to the revered series when it comes to actually control well and being fun to play. Bland courses, lo-fidelity music, and painfully slow speed were just some of the litany of complaints that disgruntled gamers had after purchasing the title.
Despite Kart Racing's terrible reception, it would not mark the end of the M&M's video game series with a further two titles being churned out for the Nintendo Wii the following year.
