10 Video Game Rip-Offs That STILL Messed Up What They Copied
5. Miner Of Duty - Minecraft
It's hard to deny just how revolutionary the popularisation of Minecraft was for the gaming industry during the early part of the 2010s.
Mojang's independent sandbox caught the imagination of players everywhere, with the delay in bringing the game to home consoles leading many developers to attempt to fill the gap with their own knock-offs.
As any who browsed the Xbox 360 Marketplace back in the day can attest, terrible rip-offs were rife on the platform, but perhaps none were quite as egregious as Miner of Duty, that attempted to rip off not just one, but two hugely popular franchises, neither very successfully.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Miner of Duty is a bastard child of the two series that it takes inspiration from, combing clunky FPS mechanics with lifeless feeling of adventure. Though it probably deserves some slack as an indie game, Miner of Duty is a truly disappointing experience for anyone expecting anything resembling the game it attempts to copy.
