10 Video Game Secrets That Will NEVER Be Revealed
6. Pokémon Red & Blue's Separated Couple In The Zoo
Despite being so outdated they're in black and white, Pokémon Red and Blue were still role-playing games, and as such, side quests were included in some capacity or another. Two famous examples - that are often overlooked by players - are obtaining Porygon through non-trading means, and battling the famed Professor Oak.
These are more or less fairly straight forward, providing you know what to do. One example of an obvious quest is buying a Clefairy doll to get past Marowak spirit in the Pokémon Tower.
Clearly, side quests were programmable for the developers, which makes this secret even more frustrating. While in Fuchsia City, the player encounters a man looking for his lost girlfriend, which at first seems like a typical NPC. Later though, the player also meets a woman, looking for her lost partner.
Upon meeting both of them, it seems obvious that it is a side quest to reunite the pair, and possibly receive a reward in doing so. Alas, there is no way of telling them where the other is. It seems unlikely their creation was for nothing, but given how old the games are, we'll never know.
