10 Video Game Secrets You Can't Unsee
4. Trainhead - Fallout 3
Bethesda's flagship series has seen better days as we inch closer into the 2020's. One such milestone was 2008's Fallout 3, a sprawling open world set in a post-apocalyptic Washington DC.
The American capital city has survived sieges and invasions in the past, but the seat of the President was no match for the Great War of 2077, and when the game's narrative begins a mere 200 years later, the area is desolate and rundown.
The romp across dystopian Americana is paired with a snazzy 1950's soundtrack and a solid story to boot, so when the Broken Steel DLC dropped in mid 2009, the opportunity to jump back into its world was enticing. One addition to the game was the Presidential Metro system, an underground railway network just waiting for its first passengers.
Propulsion on railways have seen massive advances since the industrial revolution, but none have ever been moved by the power of a single person. Until now.
Fallout 3's train cars were actually a piece of head armour with an NPC underneath the tracks sporting the unique headwear. So whenever you jump onto a train in Fallout 3, know that you're being transported by a person in a train hat. Nice.
