10 Video Game Sequels That Prove Fans Shouldn't Get What They Want

2. The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

Say what you will about Breath of the Wild, but one thing's for certain: It's the biggest reinvention of the series to date.

Going open-world is just one of the huge things that Breath of the Wild did for the Legend of Zelda series. Link now has brand new mobility and versatility with his ability to climb anything, and the introduction of cooking could be game all on its own.

Whilst it could be argued that not everything about the new changes works, (weapon degradation is annoying no matter what game it's in) Breath of the Wild still manages to be an amazing adventure, and one that certainly lives up to being voted game of the year.

It seems like changing up the formula worked wonders for Breath of the Wild, as it now stands as one of Nintendo's best games and one of the most popular in the Zelda franchise. Here's hoping this one doesn't change too much next time.

Jumping through portals, swinging through cities, destroying beings made of darkness and occasionally shooting a gun or two. I also write about games.
