10 Video Game Sequels That Turned Wimps Into Total Badasses

3. Ezio Auditore Da Firenze - Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood & Revelations

Assassins Creed Revelations Ezio

Ezio is the protagonist of the best Assassin's Creed game (II) and its spin-offs, Brotherhood and Revelations, and like Liara, he undergoes quite the personal journey over the course of the trilogy.

Ezio was born into a privileged life of nobility, but the murder of his father and brothers amid a wide-reaching political conspiracy threw him into a vengeful tailspin.

Despite his understandable motivations, Ezio just landed on the wrong side of likeable for being both spoiled and a little too cocky for his own good.

By the time Brotherhood rolls around, Ezio has evolved into a sort of Renaissance-era Batman...but with more killing. Between his quest to liberate Rome and his desire to help the everyday citizen, it's clear that personal growth has taken place, and his creative penchant for murdering bad people sure doesn't hurt either.

Revelations then does one better by reuniting fans with an older, more tired Ezio, who has long discarded vengeful thoughts and, at the end of the game, finally decides to hang up the cloak.

It's with damn good reason that Ezio is near-universally accepted to be the franchise's best character, because over the course of three games, we got to see his life play out with more depth and consistency than you'd reasonably expect from a AAA Ubisoft game.
