No one wants to see a game stuck in development hell. Especially when the title in question is a new entry in a hugely popular series, it can be painful to wait years for a game that will seemingly never be finished. Unfortunately though, on some occasions it probably would have been better if these releases stayed in development hell and as far away from our consoles as possible. Throughout the entire 2000s Duke Nukem Forever was a joke. A title that went through the hands of numerous developers, game engines and publishers, the troubled creation of Forever gained an infamy that makes the likes of Final Fantasy XV and The Last Guardian look like efficient products in comparison. However, just when all was thought to be lost, Gearbox Software was able to pick up the dying game and push it out the door. Of course, we all know now that they probably shouldn't have bothered, as the eventual release of Duke Nukem Forever was an absolutely lifeless experience that managed to single-handedly suck all the joy and potential out of this once iconic series.
