Skyrim's very own scavenger hunt, like many other collectathons on this list, is a disappointing and frustrating mess. However, unlike the others, it lures you in with a deceptively alluring mystery.

"No Stone Unturned" is a side quest in Skyrim that is triggered by finding at least one of twenty-four unusual gems scattered across the province. Once you have the gem appraised and learn it's part of a mysterious artifact known as the Crown of Barenziah, you can attempt to look for the rest of the gems in order to restore the crown to its former glory and reap its "amazing" benefits.

Finding the gems is incredibly frustrating, as you will need to join every single faction in the game and even purchase the most expensive house in Solitude. It all adds to the idea that the reward for finding the gems will be something amazing, but in reality, all you get is a worthless perk.

Called Prowler's Profit, the perk increases your chances of finding rare gemstones. It might sound useful, but when you already need to make a fortune in order to obtain it, the bonus loses all purpose.

Yeah. It's best to leave those stones unturned.
