10 Video Game Sub-Bosses With Unexpected Second Phases

Rogue Legacy is a brilliant procedural dungeon crawler experience that will present a hefty challenge to both newbies and experienced rogue-like players. Each of the castle's four areas has a couple of lesser bosses to go with the unforgivable main area boss, and if you're crazy enough to seek them out, you'll have to be sure the reward is worth the risk.

Castle Hamson, the first area, is home to Berith and Halphas, two unique giant skeletons that are usually found near the top of the level. Though they're pretty much identical in appearance and actions, the trajectories of the bones they throw are completely random, meaning you'll have to dodge constantly while getting your attacks in.

Once you kill one of them, the other will turn from yellow to red, and will throw a ton more bones at you at a much faster rate. Don't think you'll have an easier time just because one of them is dead, as the surviving one will make sure you know just what you've got yourself into.
