2. Unskippable Cutscenes

So that there isn't any confusion, I'm not saying that story isn't important and I'm not saying that cut-scenes aren't a large part of effectively telling those stories. I love story heavy, narrative driven games and it's the story in games like Uncharted next that kept me playing long into the night, desperate to know what twist was around the corner. My annoyance with cut-scenes comes on repeated playthroughs, when I just want to experience the gameplay I loved in the first playthrough or following a death, when I am trying to get back to where I die. Unfortunately sometimes unskippable cutscenes replace loading screens, which as previously noted are also a sin of game developers, but there should always be the compromise of half skippable cutscenes, which is a cutscene that after the game has loaded in the background (generally less time than the cutscene) can then be skipped. I could keep rambling about how much I hate unskippable cutscenes but instead I encourage you to click "next" to find out which trend needs to disappear more than any other on this list.
