10 Video Game Trophies That Made You Do RIDICULOUS Things
1. A God Is Born! - Catherine
The original Western release of Atlus' puzzle-platformer Catherine featured a bug which made it basically impossible for solo players to beat the fourth and final of the game's ultra-tough Babel challenge levels, Axis Mundi.
And so, this in turn prevented players from being able to pop the trophy "A God is Born!" for beating the final Babel level, but that didn't stop them coming up with a novel - if somewhat unhinged - workaround to beat it.
Mercifully, the Babel levels can also be played two-player, and if you played Axis Mundi co-op, it wasn't broken.
And so, rather than entrust the task to a friend - especially given the high degree of difficulty involved - a popular online strategy involved completing the level solo with two controllers, hot-swapping between them throughout the level to make it to the top.
It sounds silly, but given that the co-op version of the level is notably easier than the solo one, it makes total sense, using the first controller to carve a path through the level and then having the second player follow.
The things folks will do for a trophy, huh? At least the bug was finally fixed for the Full Body enhanced port released in 2019.
