Best known for its challenging puzzles, fun physics mechanics, and hilarious writing, Portal 2 expanded on the original in every conceivable way to create a memorable gaming experience that’s still as beloved today as it as on launch.

Taking place sometime after the end of the first game, the sequel sees players once again play as mute protagonist Chell as they solve increasingly complex portal-based puzzles to make their way through the bowels of the Aperture Laboratories, uncovering its history along the way.

But before players get to that, the game begins with Chell being awakened from hibernation to complete important physical activities like looking at the ceiling and admiring art so that players can learn the camera and movement controls.

When panicked personality core Wheatley bursts in later, however, he asks Chell to talk to determine if prolonged stasis has given her brain damage. Players are prompted with an input to “speak”, but what they might not realise is this prompt is for the jump button.

Instead of answering Wheatley or completing the simple task of saying “apple”, Chell jumps, and Portal 2 has made players look like an idiot before they've even left the first area.
