10 Video Game Villains Who Had The Right Idea (But Terrible Execution)

8. Mr. Freeze - Batman Arkham City

Mr. Freeze is one of the most iconic members of Batman's gallery of villains and plays an equally memorable role in Rocksteady's Batman Arkham series.

Like his comic book counterpart, the Arkham Mr. Freeze is a completely misguided villain who simply wants to save his wife from a mysterious terminal illness, and for some reason his method of accomplishing this is throwing her in a giant freezer and then trying to turn Gotham City into the second South Pole.

Yeah, being a brilliant scientist doesn't mean you're a brilliant decision-maker, it seems.

Now, the interesting contrast between Arkham's Freeze and the comic book one is that in Arkham Knight, the subzero villain actually gets to see the full error of his ways.

After Batman helps rescue his wife Nora, the woman is released from her icy cage and tells her husband that he should have let her die naturally since that way he wouldn't ruin his own life.

The two share a really touching moment, as they realize they're both about to die due to their deteriorating conditions but quickly reconcile with this fact, knowing they can face death together, reunited in love.

Huh, who would've thought freezing the whole wasn't actually the best idea?
