As Jedi Master Kreia, she was exiled after her Padawan followed Revan into battle against the Mandalorians. She travelled to the Malachor V and succumbed to the Dark Side, emerging as Darth Traya. She broke the Rule of Two and took on two Sith apprentices, whom later betrayed her, severing her connection with the Force.

Her knowledge of and expulsion from both the Light and Dark Side of the Force leads her to begin a war of her own: a war against the Force itself.

Throughout the game she guides the player's moral choices, often criticising whichever choice they made so that they are forced to consider the negative consequences of those choices. The player is then likely to choose the other way next time, only for Kreia to again berate the consequences of this decision.

Whilst she still seems hellbent on leading a Jedi purge and turning Jedi to the Dark Side, she believes she is advocating true balance to the Force.

Rather than siding one way or another, she sees both sides as being equally damaging if a person lives by only one set of rules and commits themselves to just one side of the Force.
