10 Video Game Villains You Didn't Want To Kill

7. Sans - Undertale

Now here’s a villain who only becomes a villain if you absolutely know what you’re doing.

Sans is the agonising final boss of Undertale when the game is played in Genocide mode. Meaning that you have killed every single being - main character and fodder alike - that has had the misfortune of crossing your path.

However, when it really comes down to it, staring into the eye sockets of the last character that represents the final hurdle in this brutal challenge run, you just can’t do it.

The main reason for this being that the fight is absolute heart-stoppingly, keyboard-breakingly difficult, but also because of a huge realisation that you make upon meeting Sans at the end of that hallway. The twist here is that YOU are the villain, and Sans is the hero.

You’ve killed all of his friends, his family, and you are about to kill the King of his home, and he stands up to you defiantly and defeats you again and again. Of course we don’t want to kill this villain, when the villain is ourselves!
