The Nuka-World DLC introduced plenty of wacky weapon choices to Fallout 4. From rainbow-colored assault rifles to jet-fueled baseball bats and acid-spraying revolvers, Aside from the useful stuff, the DLC also brought a few toy weapons, including a squirt gun called the Thirst Zapper, a whac-a-mole hammer, and of course, the paddle ball.

Now, on their own, these toy weapons didn't do any significant damage and served mostly as a reminder that the raider-infested Nuka-World was once a theme park visited by kids. However, after visiting Nuka-World's bottling plant and delving deep into its secret lab, the player was able to obtain the schematics for a military project that sought to weaponize the signature Nuka Cola. The schematics allowed the player to upgrade the Thirst Zapper to shoot nuclear projectiles but also, unbeknownst to most players, unlocked new upgrades for the paddle ball.

The schematics' description doesn't mention this, but they include a recipe for a new paddle ball dipped in the nuclear cola. The strongest version of this paddle ball was capable of taking down a Mirelurk razorclaw in just a couple of hits, making it more than just a rare collectible for your settlement.
