8. Frying Pan - Fable

On the surface, the frying pan from Fable doesn't look like much. It has a low damage output, and it's a pan with a creepy face etched onto its bottom. It looks as if it wouldn't even be good for cooking, really, and yet its secret ability allows it to become a powerful tool of destruction in the hands of a competent spellcaster.

The pan can be obtained via a treasure hunting quest after finding six treasure clues that will lead the player to it. Those who find the pan may be disappointed by its low damage output, but the pan actually has a few tricks up its... handle?

The pan has four augment slots, which is pretty significant on its own. The number can go up to five, as the player can use an additional, unseen slot by putting five augments on the pan at the same time without exiting the menu. This means that the pan has more slots than any other item in the game.

You can use them as you like, but by filling them with Mana Augmentations, you can turn yourself into a powerhouse of a mage that will never have to pause while casting spells.
