10 Video Game Weapons You Cheated To Get

2. The Faderator - Fallout: New Vegas

The world of Fallout is a scary and dangerous one… unless you have the Faderator in your inventory, which quite simply turns everything into a triviality.

This super-powered Sniper Rifle is, at first glance, a copy of the game’s already existing Gauss Rifle. It’s when players try it out that they’ll discover how amazing it is. Not only does it use less ammo and have a higher capacity than its sibling, it's capable of firing three rounds at a time at fully automatic speeds. Meaning it deals damage and fast. It’s also incredibly accurate in VATS, where it fires four blasts of three shots dealing an insane amount of damage.

This, and the fact that it can be found in a debugging room, has led fans to speculate that it was never designed for the game. The developers likely beefed up the Gauss Rifle to make playtesting easy by getting through combat as quickly as possible.

But naturally that didn’t stop fans from finding the necessary console command, going into this test chamber and bringing the Faderator out into the wasteland to reign destruction down on every poor Radscorpion they came across.

Players even found a way to get it into the Xbox 360 version but with the weapon being unstable at best it can cause the game to chug and freeze.
