10 Video Games Arachnophobes Could Never Handle

10. Until Dawn

Until Dawn offers a rather unique experience when it comes to horror games. Unlike other entries in the genre, Supermassive Games' title personally tailors its scares to the player's own personal fears. So, say you're afraid of little eight-legged horrors, Until Dawn has a way of exploiting that fear for its own amusement. At various interludes during the game's main story, the player will find themselves being grilled by an increasingly creepy therapist. Over the course of a few sessions, he'll do his best to extract your deepest fears by subjecting you to a bunch of different stimuli, gauging your reactions to certain images and analysing your answers to a series of questions. While the fallout of these sessions can be rather complex, most of the consequences come down to specialised scares tailored to get you over the course of the game. Of course, most of the arachnophobes out there will end up letting on about their fear of spiders - thereby triggering a MASSIVE one to appear randomly later - as the game relishes in exploiting that phobia in increasingly startling ways.
