10 Video Games Based On Horror Movies You've Completely Forgotten About

8. Evil Dead: Regeneration

The Evil Dead franchise has been carried by devilish energy, independent spirit, and Bruce Campbell's performances for decades. It's one of the few series horror fans don't wish to ever die, yet there was a 20 year gap between movies. Thankfully, during that intervening period, we were treated to a couple of games to tide us over. The last of those to arrive on consoles was Evil Dead: Regeneration.

The game takes place in an alternative dimension to the original trilogy, whereby Ash Williams is not actually sent back in time at the end of Evil Dead II, and is declared categorically insane. Of course, not everything is as it seems and Ash is forced to save the world from the evil of the deadites once again.

The odds were unknowingly stacked against this cheeky blast of horror fun from the get-go, for it was released a year before the launch of the brand spanking new PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2006. As a result, Regeneration was a game whose life cycle was unfortunately short, and sadly doomed to be forgotten in a hurry.
