Of all the major horror franchises out there, there probably isn't one that lends itself to the world of video games better than George A. Romero's infamous 'Dead' movie series - yet there has been one, and only one, to do just that.

When you consider the success of recent zombie fare like State of Decay, Dying Light or Dead Island, it's mind-boggling to think nobody else has tried to license this legendary property into more releases. The closest we even got to play an adaptation of Dawn of the Dead was Capcom's copyright-skirting Dead Rising.

Likely one of the contributing factors in this development is that the one title loosely based on the franchise was widely slated by critics and gamers alike. Road to Fiddler's Green got a release on PC and the original Xbox, and was pretty much dead on arrival. Reviews from critics and gamers alike were negative, and it even came with an utterly pointless deathmatch multiplayer mode. It's probably a good thing this game gets forgotten.
