10 Video Games Bosses That Do The Work For You
2. Ceaseless Discharge - Dark Souls
The Dark Souls series features several bosses that can be easily disposed of with a few simple tricks. One of the more commonly discussed examples of this is the Taurus Demon, who can get tricked into jumping off the wall via a glitch. The Ceaseless Discharge from Dark Souls 1 does something very similar; except that his failed attempt at acrobatics is not an exploit but rather a deliberative choice by the developers.
The Ceaseless Discharge is a giant demon that emerges out of a pool of lava and because of his gargantuan size, you can only attack his tentacles and arms, which is why it normally takes a long time to kill him.
However, if you are fast enough to run towards the edge of the map before the Discharge hits you with his fire attack, you will prompt him to leap after you and fall off the edge. At this point, he will attempt to save himself from falling to his certain death by grabbing the ledge. This allows you to deal massive damage to his exposed hand and force him to let go.
Long live the king!
