10 Video Games Cancelled For The WORST Reasons

4. Fez 2 (Phil Fish)

What's the worst thing that's happened to you as a result of an internet argument? A few mean remarks about your mother? Some guy telling you your taste in Top Ten Bones episodes is "hot trash"?

Well, for creator of indie darling Fez - Phil Fish - the result was just outright cancelling the sequel. Like, getting so mad with a dude, he just up and said "this guy has ruined it for everyone, no Fez 2 for anybody, now!".

That's a pretty glib generalisation, of course - Fish has gone on record remarking that the constant hatred towards him just had him reaching snapping point, with his online argument with Marcus Beer being the final straw.

Fish was known for his... fairly extreme views, which would incite outrage, and when Beer referred to him as a "tosser" and "hipster", Fish simply replied "compare your life to mine, then kill yourself". Objectively speaking, neither side looks particularly innocent.

However, as a way of "punishing" everyone that had spoken out against him, Phil subsequently sent out a tweet noting that "I'm done. Fez 2 is cancelled", and even cackling "I can set the price of [the original] Fez on Steam - look, now it's $90!".

Well, that certainly beats my online argument where some guy called me a "jobby-sausage" and I said "well, so's your face".
