10 Video Games That Failed So Hard They Actually Won

10. Postal

Few games are looked down upon and shrugged off as a 'dark time in the industry' quite like the very existence of the first Postal games - something where the goal is literally just to cause as much of a bloody ruckus as possible, acting out escapist fantasies we're sure you've all had - like lopping heads off with machetes, urinating on corpses and killing a variety of animals. No obviously it wasn't for everyone, but naturally as you can assume from anything that shouts loud and abrasively enough to get noticed, it did - leading to two sequels that were monumentally bad (not that the first was great either). Also factor in that this complete disregard for morals or storytelling led to hundreds of thousands of copies shifting when the game eventually landed on Steam - with developer Running With Scissors releasing DLC in celebration of their lifelong fanbase in June of this year - some 11 years after release. To be honest the completely insane tone of the series was so gloriously over-the-top that these days it stacks up close to the Saints Row titles' new direction - albeit far more depraved - with those sales records speaking for themselves.
