10 Video Games You Just Had To Play Through In One Sitting
8. Any Call Of Duty Campaign
Now we get to something a little different. The Call of Duty franchise evolved considerably with its fourth main game, Modern Warfare, introducing a far more cinematic campaign mode, which was lauded for its technical brilliance even if it was rather on the short side. However, progressively the CoD franchise has appeared to downplay the importance of a single-player story in favour of the super-addictive multiplayer component, to the extent that the last game, Ghosts, featured a campaign that could be beaten in a little over 4 hours. So, it's not so much that the Call of Duty series boasts a brilliant single-player mode that keeps us glued to our consoles, but that the campaign is so short, you may as well spend a lazy Saturday afternoon casually blasting through it so you never have to bother with it again, and can get back to the multiplayer mayhem. We'd all love a cinematic, well-written, intense 8-hour CoD campaign, but when Infinity Ward and Treyarch basically put so little effort into the campaigns, it's something to just race through for the trophies. With such a short length, it's best to just get it out of the way.
