10 Video Games Netflix Could Adapt After The Witcher
9. Cyberpunk 2077
Yes, Netflix's adaption of The Witcher is based on the books and not the video games, but the series likely wouldn't exist if the latter weren't such a success. As such, an adaption of Cyberpunk 2077 coming down the line is certainly a possibility.
Cyberpunk 2077 couldn't be a bigger departure from The Witcher, taking the action from the gorgeous landscapes of fantasy, magic and monsters to the claustrophobic streets of a futuristic city of augmentations and technology. The world makes for a visual feast, and an off-the-wall story about corrupt governments and augmented humans would be a fun one to watch across a season.
Cyberpunk the show could be an ultra-violent series that captures the genre like few others. The only question would be: Who is the protagonist?
Seeing as the game features a male or female protagonist, unlike The Witcher, that could make it tricky to adapt. Unless Netflix would just make a choice between the two or give us a brand new main character.
Of course, if Netflix could get Keanu Reeves to reprise his role as Johnny Silverhand, everyone and their mother would be watching.
Cyberpunk 2077 could be what Netflix desperately wanted Altered Carbon to be.
