Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 is one of the most crushingly disappointing entries into any major video game franchise, releasing to scathing reviews from critics who criticised its dated graphics, poor controls, and jank-filled gameplay, while noting that it played like a game rushed out to retain the rights.

THPS5 was first released on September 2015 and actually clung around until early 2018 when it received its first delisting. Yes, there was more than one.

In the first instance we'll give Activision the benefit of the doubt - it was only delisted for a month, and could potentially have been related to music licensing issues.

But THPS5 was delisted once again, seemingly for good this time, across all platforms in May 2020, suspiciously just a few days after Activision announced their Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 remaster project.

Clearly, the publisher wanted to bury every last trace of the game and instead move forward with their new title, which went on to receive strongly positive reviews and effectively restored the series' tarnished reputation.

As for THPS5's lead developer Robomodo, they went bust less than a year after its release, which says it all really.
