10 Video Games Supposed To Release On Other Consoles
5. Doom (2016)
Though Doom 3 was divisively received by fans upon release in 2004, it was nevertheless a strong commercial success, leading id Software to confirm a fourth game was in development in 2007.
By 2008, it was said to be aiming for release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, though in the years that followed word on Doom 4 became increasingly sparse.
In 2013, reports emerged that the project was in development hell - ironic considering the subject matter - with a heavily cinematic, Call of Duty-esque version of the game being scrapped by 2011.
As a result, development started entirely from scratch while production shifted to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Doom was reintroduced with a teaser trailer at E3 2014 and confirmed as a reboot at E3 2015, before releasing in 2016 to some of the most unexpected rave reviews of the entire generation.
