10 Video Games Supposed To Release On Other Consoles
6. Shenmue
Believe it or not, legendary RPG Shenmue didn't actually begin development as a Dreamcast game, but instead for its predecessor console the Sega Saturn.
In 1996, director Yu Suzuki began work on a cinematic RPG set within the Virtual Fighter world, Virtua Fighter RPG: Akira's Story.
In 1997, however, the decision was made to move development to the Dreamcast, and in order to better sell the game as the platform's must-have killer app, the Virtua Fighter branding was dropped entirely despite the obvious visual similarities.
Shenmue was finally released at the end of 1999 to rave reviews, creating a legacy which endures to this very day - no matter how disappointing the recent Shenmue III was.
