10 Video Games That Are Better When You Break Them

Roleplaying games, by their nature, are at their best when they offer a great amount of variety and customisation. Here, Divinity Original Sin 2 is no slouch. However, like the table-top giant Dungeons & Dragons, electronic RPGs also invite players to craft new ways to experience them.

Self-sacrificing pyro mages who run into crowds and explode, juggernauts who root enemies to the ground and then wallop them, blood mages that wipe out enemies in a storm of haemoglobin... the only limit to your potential is your imagination.

This point is proven by builds like the Barrelmancer, which may be one of the funniest ways to play the game because it's both powerful and absurd, as the name suggests. By skilling in telekinesis and upping your critical hit chance, it's possible to carry an invincible chest with you through most of the game and use it to bludgeon your enemies.

Now strictly speaking, whilst not quite these ideas specifically, breaking the game was what the developers were going for. You can absolutely enjoy Original Sin 2 playing one of the game's base classes as straight as possible but the tools are provided for you to really go ham with ideas. The developers want you to get creative, so it's no wonder this is the best way to play.
