10 Video Games That Caused Physical Injuries

This is a really specific situation but it's remarkable enough to earn a space on this list. Plus, unlike most injury stories, it has a happy ending.

Out of all the celebrities famously open about their love of video games, this story comes from a more unlikely source in Matthew Perry. The former Chandler Bing is apparently a massive Fallout fan, to a point of addiction.

On talk show Ellen in 2009, Perry donated a signed copy of the game and an Xbox 360 to the host's eBay charity drive. Whilst doing so he explained that his countless hours in the wasteland led him to seeing a "hand doctor" for injections, presumably to relieve pain or cramp.

Now, in all seriousness, tendonitis and carpal tunnel syndrome are the real potential issues facing hardcore gamers and shouldn't be taken lightly. That said, Fallout's world being as addictive as it is, we empathise.

Perry's love of the game caught the attention of Besthesda, who were on a roll with casting known names as characters. As such, the Canadian-American actor's love of the game lead to him playing the role of Benny in Fallout: New Vegas.

We have to wonder, "could he have been any more excited?"
