10 Video Games That Didn't End The Way Any Of Us Wanted
6. Rage
To kick us off, a game that coincidentally mirrors the way that many gamers are going to feel about not this video game ending but pretty much all of the ones to come on this list.
This one was especially a let down for those who really clicked with Bethesda’s 2011 shooter from the get go.
The fast-paced and hectic romp almost universally impressed critics and gamers alike with its impressive AI, spirited visuals, and visceral combat. Then we come to the game’s conclusion that was punctuated with not only a non-event final mission, but a quick drop off that just suggests you did the thing and now you’re done. You activate the Arks containing the remaining survivors in an attempt to overthrow the Authority regime and then… that’s it.
The whole thing felt half-baked and anticlimactic, and while Rage 2 ties up some of the plot threads, that didn’t do anything to cushion the blow of the original disappointment at the time.
Not to mention the sequel is set 30 years after the events of the first game so you still miss experiencing the outcome of all your efforts.
