10 Video Games That Don't Let You Save
7. Left 4 Dead 2
Left 4 Dead 2 isn't exactly a game you'd think about having a lot of saves - but that's mainly because none of it is done manually.
Ever since play testers told Valve that the original game was too difficult because the team dying would take you back to the lobby, the series has had frequent checkpoints to take you back to in order to feel a little more fair.
Unless you sign up for this to be revoked, in Left 4 Dead 2's Iron Man mode, where everything gets substantially more intense. Not only do witches murder you immediately if you get caught, but if you all die, you don't go back to a checkpoint: no, you go back to the lobby.
This is uniquely brutal in that obviously the end of a level is generally the most difficult part, and if you just fail to clear it by a hair's breadth, guess what? You're still getting a first class ticket back to the lobby to either rage quit or painstakingly try again - better luck next time.
