10 Video Games That Forced You To Answer Impossible Questions
8. Fallout 3: The Pitt
Formerly Pittsburgh, The Pitt has become a haven for slavers to exploit the work of the countless slaves who occupy the city. Under the rule of Lord Ashur, order is maintained using intimidation and deadly force, the slaves essentially beaten and murdered if they refuse to work tirelessly in the steel mill producing weapons and equipment for their masters.
Though Ashur may sound irredeemably evil, he attempts to justify his actions using the Troglodyte Degeneration Contagion, a nasty disease that prevents childbirth and eventually turns those infected into mindless beasts who attack on sight.
Under such conditions, Ashur argues that The Pitt would not be able to sustain itself without the use of slave labour. However, Ashurs daughter, Marie, may embody a possible cure to the contagion. She also represents a bargaining chip for the people of The Pitt to finally end their perpetual slavery.
The Decision: Do you kidnap Marie in order to end slavery in The Pitt, or allow her mother and father to continue their research and possible, one day, cure the Troglodyte Degeneration Contagion?
It's a case of immediate verse eventual result, and theres certainly no right or wrong answer with this one.
