10 Video Games That Forced You To Answer Impossible Questions

5. Skyrim

Skyrim is a good example of a game that oversimplifies moral choices, usually forcing the player to choose between a blatantly good and bad option. However, there is one question that stands out from the rest, a question that forces the player to judge the merits of cultural tolerance versus religious freedom.

Having signed the White-Gold Concordat, the Imperials have banned the worship of Talos, a figure revered by the Nords above all other deities. In response, the Stormcloaks have instigated a civil war against the totalitarian Imperial Legion, rejecting their authority and heralding Ulfric Stormcloak as the true king of Skyrim.

The Decision: Do you side with the Imperials or the Stormcloaks? Though the denial of religious freedom is fairly awful, keep in mind that the Imperials have only imposed the ban on Talos to keep the peace with the Aldmeri Dominion, preventing a second great war and the loss of further life. The Stormcloaks also have a tendency to exclude or outright abuse other races, and it€™s suggested that Ulfric only cares about the freedoms of his fellow Nords.
