10 Video Games That Forced You To Answer Impossible Questions

3. Mass Effect

Having defeated Saren, you€™re left to make some pretty important decisions, decisions that will affect the entire galaxy. One of those decisions involves the galactic council who have fled to the Destiny Ascension, the flagship of the entire galactic fleet. Joker informs you that the ship can be saved from an onslaught of enemy vessels, but only if actions is taken immediately. The trouble is: saving the council will result in the deaths of countless human lives.

The Decision: Do you sacrifice human lives in order to save the council, or allow the council to perish? Thus far, humanity has been regularly excluded from important decision making, and repeatedly lied to by the council. Allowing them to die would secure a place for humanity at the forefront of the galactic senate; it would also prevent further unnecessary death.

In the end, the decision is really about whether or not to selfishly place human interest over the needs of the rest of the galaxy. Though your decision doesn't affect the sequel too much, it does have some lasting effects that are tied directly to your decision.
