10 Video Games That Gave You God-Like Powers

8. Bioshock

A man chooses, a slave obeys. These haunting words from Andrew Ryan, a property tycoon and all-around breaker of the great chain, will stay with you long after your encounter with him come the close of Bioshock one.

However, maybe it needs a little addendum. A man chooses. A slave obeys. A demigod with the ability to shoot lightning, fire bees from their hands, and brainwash people? Well, they can do whatever the hell they want.

Across all of the Bioshock series, there has been a not so subtle message about how absolute power corrupts absolutely, yet when you're striding around the watery depths throwing bins at people with nothing but your brain, it's easy to forget this as it's just way too damn fun.

By splicing your genes and drinking some beverages that I bet you taste worse than milk in wine you gain the power that surface dwellers only dream of, making it very easy to see why people got hooked on the stuff. In fact, it's actually impressive Rapture stayed alive for as long as it did when you consider the raw power that some of its populace were sold like sweets.

Jules Gill hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
