This is one of those few games where the title literally tells the entire story of the actual experience itself. You're a bird that flaps. While console games continue to explore deeper and richer experiences, mobile games seem to have done the exact opposite, presenting gamers with quick experiences that last seconds at a time. This is great for portable gaming on the bus or while going down a slide at the park, but something about the sheer bare bones simplicity of Flappy Bird defies all logic when it comes to having fun. There's only one environment, one button to press, one character to 'control' and one experience to have over and over again. And yet, for a few months earlier in the year people were utterly addicted. It was almost a Pokemon-level craze, despite being so incredibly basic.
