Fetch quests in action-adventure/role-playing games are a standard affair. Usually a means to deviate off the story path for the chance to earn something for your troubles. Reuniting families, discovering long-lost treasures and everything in between, there's usually something good at the end of it. Ocarina of Time players will fondly remember the Gold Skulltula quest, for it yielding some decent rewards.

So when a similar quest was introduced in BotW, to collect nine hundred Korok seeds, you'd be rubbing your hands in glee at what you could unlock. Sure, you do get some rewards at certain milestones, which should be a bloody given after what you have to do to earn them. Considering all the climbing, diving and racing (and everything else) you have to do, you'd be thinking it's the grandest of grand prizes.

But it's poop.

That's not me being glib, it is literally poop. Why, you must be thinking? Director Hidemaro Fujibayashi thought it'd be funny, basically. All of that, all 900, because the game's director wanted to share a little joke with you.

That thing in your inventory wasn't the only thing that was steaming.
